Karen Oliver

Karen is a regular performer on the Gold Coast Theatre scene. She is best known in recent times for her turn as 'Momma Rose' in Spotlight Theatre's production of Gypsy, for which she received rave reviews.

This is Karen's first album, and as she prepares to go into the studio, she is ecstatic about the material she has chosen. 'I love the Jazz genre. But whilst the likes of Michael Buble, David Campbell and Robbie Williams have brought back a lot of the classic male jazz standards into the main stream, fewer women have taken on the challenge.'

Karen has chosen a range of songs, some better known, such as 'Stormy Weather' and 'Ive got the World on A String', and others are less well known, but just as much fun. 'At this stage I think my favourites are shaping up to be 'I Wanna Be Evil', and 'Snatch and Grab It', but the whole album should be a great deal of fun, both for the listener, and for me as an artist'.
